VPN

The Department of Computer Science provides its members with a VPN gateway. The task of the VPN is to enable external access to resources (servers, networks) that cannot be reached by other means or that require special protection.

Our VPN gateway uses the OpenVPN software, which is available for many popular operating systems.

For access, you need three things:

1. an OpenVPN Client for your operating system
2. a ssl-Certificate, which you can generate and download from our Web-Interface.
3. a config file for use with OpenVPN. you can generate this configuration in our Web-Interface and download it.

Below you will find some concrete examples of how to set up under different operating systems. This information will be added to over time. We assume for these examples that you are basically familiar with the operation of your devices.
