Select "ITS AD password" in the "h-brs" area. First, you have to enter the known ITS password for authentication. Then you'll have to enter your new password twice in the provided fields and confirm it.
Attention: The option "ITS AD Password reset" should only be selected in case of emergency, as a reset may have unwanted effects especially in case of encrypted files.
You can change the passwords of the Department of Computer Science by logging in to a special server using ssh. The server is called: password.inf.h-brs.de
The server password is only accessible from within the university. Therefore, you must first:
Linux, MacOS and Windows have a terminal program with which you can establish an SSH connection:
cmd
in the search box and prerss enter to open the terminal.CTRL+ALT+T
at the same time.If you have opened a terminal, you can dial in to the password change server via SSH. Use the command:
ssh -l «userID» password.inf.h-brs.de
Alternatively, you can also connect to password. inf. h-brs. de via an SSH client of your choice. Use your acronym as username and your default password for authentication. After successful connection, the following menu will be displayed.

Enter the specified number of password you want to change and follow the on-screen instructions (depending on your account, you may see more or fewer passwords that you can change this way).
Attention: If you change the Windows password in this way, you should not be logged in to Windows on a PC pool computer at the same time, otherwise your current profile cannot be transferred to the server, all changes made during the Windows session will be lost. Change your password under Linux if you are working with a PC-Pool computer.
